Tone Capture of the best clean guitar amps ever made, the Fender Dual Showman Reverb. Effectively a head only version of the legendary Fender Twin Reverb, but accompanied in its day by a towering 2 x 15 Fender speaker cab, the Dual Showman Reverb's circuit is the same as the Twin Reverb that is used in so many albums and live performances in every possible genre. Well known for its Fender signature clean sound but also widely known as a "pedal machine", the amp has two channels and a… secret third option.
The normal channel of the Dual Showman Reverb is one of the best options out there for a clean, bright, sweet, clear and beautiful dreamy sound. Also, any pedal that you put in front of that amp is going to sing and you are going to get the best out of it so that was the main reason that most pedal captures were done with this combination.
The vibrato channel, also known as the “dark sounding channel” has a creamy and rounded sound which almost reaches the famous edge of breakup sound. Put a transparent soft overdrive in front of it like a tube screamer or an OCD and you’re going to push it to the point where you like it the most.
The third option was kinda like a secret for many years and was even considered folklore at some point. Connecting the normal channel to the vibrato channel externally, via a simple ¼ jack, aka Channel Jumping! The result is a different sound with characteristics from both channels. A bit more clear than the vibrato channel, a bit more dark than the normal channel, well something in between.
This preset is best used with a power amp (or the FX Loop of an amp) and a cabinet. If you don't intend to use a cabinet please turn on cab sim and either select one of the stock cab sims or use one of the included matched cabinet IRs. This tone capture comes with a Fender Twin Reverb 2x12 Combo IR and a Fender Blackface Bandmaster 2x12 IR, each with two more tube variations!
