Profile one of what is regarded by many as the “Ultimate Rock Sound”, the Marshall AFD100, Slash's signature amp. After almost 8 months of research and development, Slash and Marshall have tweaked the AFD100 enough to be the most accurate reproduction of the original amp that Slash used to record the Guns N' Roses album, Appetite For Destruction. The AFD100 was limited to 2,300 pieces worldwide (2,300 because when it came out, it's been 23 years since the Appetite For Destruction album). Marshall also produced 100 pieces of a Special Collectors Edition hand signed by Slash himself.
The twin modes – #34 and AFD – are based on two of Slash’s legendary tones. The first is taken from Slash’s ‘modded’ JCM800 2203 (complete with stenciled 34 on the side) that he has used since the late ’80s. The second provides an additional gain stage and is of course based on the infamous ‘Appetite Amp’, widely believed to be a modified 1959 Tremolo from the mid ’70s. Both modes provide a unique, harmonically rich, natural valve-driven tone, ideal for thick crunchy rhythm and wild soaring solos alike. As with traditional Marshall amplifiers, the AFD100 provides two sensitivity input options – one high and one low. Either input can be used and is a matter of personal taste.
This preset can be used either with a Power Amp (or the FX Loop of an Amp) and a Cabinet or straight to an Audio Interface, PA Speakers or FRFR. If you intend to use a Power Amp and Cabinet, please turn OFF the pedal's CAB SIM. Includes both STUDIO and LIVE NVA Matching Cabinet Impulse Responses.
ALL INCLUDED PROFILES ARE DI PROFILES, meaning that you can either use them with your Kemper and a power amp/cabinet or select any Stock Cab/IR of your choice when connected to FRFR/PA Speakers or Audio Interface. Comes with a Marshall AVT412A 4x12 IR and a Marshall 1960AV JCM Slash 4x12 IR!
