Fan of Van Halen? Or not? Doesn't matter as the EVH 5150 III has one of the most all-around tones, perfect for any style! This 50W beauty with the unique design of Eddie Van Halen is the trademark sound both of the 70s and the 80s spreading the famous Brown Sound all around the world. Moreover, the EVH 5150 III comes at different versions, giving the choice of 6L6 or EL34 power tubes.

The amp features three channels with independent volume and gain controls, and independent EQ controls for channel 3 while channel 1 and 2 share the same EQ controls. Moreover it offers functionality that the modern guitar player can utilize and makes this amp even handier. Midi functionality and a dedicated line out option are things that even Eddie would be jealous of in the 70s.

Channel 1 is the clean channel but the special of it is the edge of breakup sound it produces when cranking up its gain. Vintage players have always liked a bit of tube flavor in what they consider their clean sound. Channel 2 is the crunch channel and it reaches the overdrive stage with ease while Channel 3 is the lead channel that of course gets you to the Brown Sound. All you have to do is crank it up and… Boom! The headroom that this amp can produce is amazing and a must have experience!

The EVH 5150 III 50W 6L6 was used for the tone capture although it would not make a difference for the preamp capture.
